Creating Family Relationships
Family Relationships are created directly in the CRM360
relationships screen. From an individual record, open the relationships by
clicking on the screen task category Relationships and then the All
Relationships screen task, or by clicking on the relationship number from the
CRM360 header.

1.
Click on the Add hyperlink from the relationships screen. The Edit
Relationship Details window will appear.

2. On the “This
Constituent” side, select the Relationship Type family from the drop down menu.
3. Select a Role
from the drop down menu. (Refer to the family relationship chart to
accurately setup a family relationship.)
4. Add any comments
if needed.

5.
From the “Is Related to This Constituent side, click on the Related
Constituent hyperlink.

6. The customer
chooser will appear. Search for the associate practice to complete the
relationships. Use the following fields to narrow down the search results.
a. Search
Name: If the name of the company constituent record is given or known,
search by the name field.
b. Customer
Class: Use customer class to narrow down the search results by
practice, clinic, optometry school, etc.
c. Customer
ID: If users know the constituent ID number, use the customer ID
field. This will only return one result in the query.
d. Phone/Email:
Searching by phone or by email is a great way to narrow down results since
email is unique to the constituent. Phone numbers are entered without
parentheses or hyphens.
e. Postal
Code: When searching for a company constituent zip code can help
narrow down companies that have multiple locations.
7. Select the
constituent by double clicking on the line.

8. The Name and
constituent ID will populate automatically.
9. Select the Is
Related as a(n) from the drop down menu. (Refer to the family relationship
codes to select the proper relationship.)
10. Update the Begin Date. The
begin date by default is the date the relationship is created. If known update
to the proper date or use 01/01/2000 for generic dates.
11. Save any changes made to the
relationship record.
