The inventory system is broken down into two product types, individual products, and standing order products.
Individual Products: A product that holds its own inventory and revenue will be distributed to this product’s own accounts. Optionally, this product can point to any combination of products or components. Individual products can be inventoried or non-inventoried. Individual products would be physical merchandise as well as merchandise manufactured/created on site or services offered.
Standing Order Product: A product that flags the Order Entry screen and the standing order fulfillment process to follow special rules. It is a special case in that it represents a series of products that may be purchased as unit or by component. Standing order products are considered non-inventory. Standing order products is the place holder for the future fulfillment of items such as purchasing a set of annuals, and paying for them as they come out yearly.
