Related Products

With related products, users can associate the active product with other Personify products.  For instance, defining and inventory product that could be substituted for a back ordered item.

From Product Central either search or create a new inventoried product.  Under the Relationships screen task category, click the Related Products screen task.  The Product Maintenance | Related Products screen will appear.

1.    In the Related Products section, click on the Add Related Product button, and search for the product to be related to the active product.  Continue to enter the following in to the Product Relationship Detail section.

a.    Relationship Type:  Drop down defines the relationship and behavior in other applications.  The following are available.

                                          i.    Cross-Sell:  The active product and the product defined as a cross sell complement each other.  During the order entry process, the staff may mention this related product to increase sales.

                                         ii.    Prerequisite:  The order history of the ship-to customer must include this prerequisite related product before the active product can be purchased.

                                        iii.    Prerequisite Or:  Used to identify a set of items, any of which will meet the prerequisite requirement.

                                       iv.    Required:  The active order of this product must include the required related product.

                                        v.    Substitute:  The active product and the product defined as a substitute are similar, to the point of functioning as a replacement product.  For example, if a customer is not interested in this product, they may be able to substitute for this related product.

                                       vi.    Up-Sell:  Similar to the cross-sell in that the goal is to increase product sales, products identified as an up-sell are defined as an addition to the active product.

2.    Continue adding additional details to the Product Relationship Details section.

a.    Valid From & Valid Through:  Drop down menus to indicate the start and end dates of the relationship.

b.    Related Product Description:  Area available to add a sales script for staff to read to the customer during order entry.

c.    Language:  Defines the languages available for the description.

d.    Edit Description:  Allows user to update/edit the description of the related product.

3.    Continue to add product relationships as needed, then save  any changes made.
