When writing off a balance in
Personify, users can write-off all or part of the line item’s balance. A
write-off is used for an order in which receiving payment is unlikely or
impossible. This screen eliminates credit balances and debit balances on
orders that are not collectable or when the balance is too small to warrant
further action. If needed, credit balances can be written off in AR. All
write-offs must be performed at the line level instead of the order level.
Note: Users cannot write-off a balance for an
inventoried product that has not been shipped.
Note: All write-off MUST be approved via Finance.
1. To conduct a
write-off in the system, it is important to review the order needing adjustment.
Using the Order Entry screen, highlight the line that needs an write-off.

2. From the screen
task category Work with Line Items, click on the Adjust the Price
screen task.

3. The
Price Adjustments window will appear. From the Price Adjustment section,
update the option to be Write-off Balance.
4. Adjustment
Amount. This needs to be a negative number to lower the balance.
5. Update
the Adjustment Reason as to why the revenue is being adjusted.
6. Click Save
to save the changes.

The line will adjust and the
balance will increase or decrease based upon the input. Verify the results on
the Resulting Price Details section.
