Define Rates and Pricing

Define Rates and Pricing

From the screen tasks on the left, select Define Rates and Pricings.  We will now continue the setup of our product.

  1. We will need to click the Add Rate button.  Once the line has been added, we’ll continue with the rest of the rate code details.

    1. Select a Rate Code Structure from the drop down menu.  This is rate that defines whether the attendee is a member or non-member.
    2. Select a Rate Code from the drop down.  This is the rate that will match with the individual that is registering.  There can be many rate codes tied with one product.  (Once the rate code is selected the description will automatically fill in after using the Tab key on the keyboard.)
    3. Set the Max Free Badges.  This determines the number of badges when a member/constituent orders the meeting product.  Should the member want additional badges than the maximum amount, a badge product would need to be created as an additional meetings product.

  1. From the check boxes on the right, verify the following:
    1. Default Rate – This defaults the rate to the list price.  This is the default rate when creating an order.
    2. Web Enabled Rate – This indicates whether the rate is available to be used on the Web.
    3. Default Web Rate – This indicates whether the rate the default rate for the web.
    4. Waive Shipping – This should never be checked.  When checked the shipping will be waived for the rate code selected.

  1. Once the rate has been selected, we now need to define the Pricing Details for the rate.  Click on the Add Price button.
    1. Enter the Price for the meeting.
    2. Select a Valid From and Valid Thru dates.
    3. If the meeting has a sale price, enter this information here.

                                          i.    Checkmark the Show as Web Sale Price.

ii.    Enter the Strikethrough Price at a higher value.

iii.    Check mark the Show Price End Date on Web, to entice members to purchase before a certain date.  This is great for early bird registrations.

Repeat the steps for the rate codes and prices until all rate codes are entered.

Note:  We can allow web users to purchase multiple tickets to sessions on the web, if you set up a rate code "GUEST" for the session.
