Committee Class

Usage

Affiliate

Affiliate Committees are used strictly for tracking the board of trustees (i.e. President, Past President, Secretary/Treasurer, etc.) of an AOA affiliate as well as other affiliate staff (i.e. ED, Membership Coordinator, Marketing Director, etc.)

Board

A board of individuals that serve on an AOA volunteer committee.  (i.e. Board of Trustees, Advocacy Group Executive Committee, ASCO Board of Directors, etc.)

Commission

A group of people appointed for a specific function (i.e. Commission on Ophthalmic Standards, Commission to Look to the Future, Commission on Paraoptometric Certification, etc.)

Committee

A group of people appointed for a specific function (i.e. AOA Awards Committee, Publications & Education Committee, State Government Relations Committee, etc.)

Council

A group of people appointed for a specific function (i.e. Accreditation Council on Optometric Education, Council on Research, Judicial Council, etc.)

Legislative Group

A group of legislators for a specific state or government (i.e. The Illinois House of Representatives, Nebraska Legislator, Missouri General Assembly, etc.)

Other

A group of people appointed for a specific function tracked outside of the AOA but included in the Directory.  (i.e. American Optometric Foundation, National Optometric Association, Southern Council of Optometrists, etc.)

Program

A program for members (i.e. InfantSee Program, VisionUSA Program, etc.)

Section

A group of people appointed for a specific function tracked only by the section they represent.  (i.e. Contact Lens and Cornea Section, Sports Vision Section, Vision Rehabilitation Section, etc.)

Society

A sub group of members within an affiliate (i.e. Greater Ozark Optometric Society, MN – Southeast Society, NE – Panhandle Society, etc.)

Workgroup

A group of individuals appointed to work on a project together (i.e. ACOE Consultants, New Technology Workgroup, Workforce Analysis and Communications Project Team, etc.)
