Creating an Automated Discount for Current Society Members
The total registration cost can be discounted for existing society members. This will then allow non-members of that society to register for the meeting, but they must pay the full registration cost and the dues amount. For this to work properly, you must setup a discount up within Personify.
To create an automated discount for current society membership on a meeting registration:
1. From the Rates, Discounts, Coupons section of the Personify menu, click the Discount Maintenance button. The discount maintenance screen will open on a new screen tab.
2. Within the Discount Maintenance screen within Personify, click the Create New Product Discount button. The Discount Maintenance screen tab will refresh.
3. From the Discount Identification section of the screen, update the following:
a. Enter a Description of the discount you are setting up. If this discount will be recurring, it’s a good idea to include the year and be as specific as possible what the discount will cover.
b. Check the Fixed Line Level checkbox to ensure that the discount only affects the meeting registration line item.
c. Update the Fixed Amount to ensure the discount only applies a dollar amount to the registration line.
NOTE: You do NOT need to update the Discount ID. Its very important to make sure that the valid from and valid thru dates are updated when setting up a discount within Personify.
4. Use the Discount Parameters sections as needed. For the setup of discounts which are given to individuals who have a current membership, use the discounts for current membership section.
a. From the Member Org Unit drop down menu, select the appropriate affiliate. This will typically only have one value.
b. Use the Membership Product hyperlink to select the appropriate membership product.
c. The Parent Product and Description will auto update based upon the previous selections.
5. For the setup of discounts which only should applied to specific products, use the Discounts on Specific Products section.
a. Click the Add button to add a line to the data grid.
b. Click the Product Code lookup button. The product chooser will appear.
6. Use the Search Parameters section to search/narrow down the products available. Highlight and double click the product you wish to select.
7. Save 
any changes to the discount.
