Relationships and Duplicate Processing
With any database, the risk and remediation of duplicate
records is always a daunting and ongoing task. Duplicates are a product of
various processes including data conversions, user error, etc. The key to
preventing duplicate processes from a back-office standpoint is to always
search for the constituent record prior to creating a new one. With online
users being able to create their own profiles, it is likely that duplicates
will occur.
Part of the process when handling and resolving duplicate
records, relationships are created. This is an automated process, and allows
there to be an audit of records merged and records kept.

When viewing relationships in Personify, users will possibly
encounter relationships relating to the merge process. The image below is what
a duplicate record will look like in Personify.
