Maintaining Purchasing Groups

Purchasing Groups are constant in the system, meaning they never expire.  The discounts they are attached to however can have beginning and ending dates depending on the pertinent campaign. Since there is no begin and end date on the groups, they will need to be maintained.  This includes adding and possibly dropping members from the purchasing group.

Adding an Individual to a Purchasing Group

From the Purchasing Group Maintenance screen, open the group you wish to add members to.

  1. Click on the Add button at the top of the group.   The customer chooser screen will display.  Search and select the customer you wish to add to the purchasing group.

  1. By default, the Effective Begin Date will mask today.  Update this to the beginning of the purchasing period or when the individual is eligible to be a part of the purchasing group.
  2. Enter the Effective End Date.  This will be the last day the individual can utilize the purchase group.  This field does not have to be activated should the individual always be a part of that purchasing group.

Note:  An icon will display next to the customer information.

*       This icon indicates that the individual cannot use the purchase group at this time.  They are “Inactive”.

*    This icon indicates that the individual can use the purchase group at this time.  They are “Active”.
