Political Committees

Personify can track other political demographics when they are added to a committee.  The committee groups the politicians and allows users to track political affiliation as well as district information they are representing.

Creating a Legislative Committee

  1. From the home page, click on the Work with a Committee button from the menu.

  1. Update the Customer Class to be Legislative Group and search for any existing committees of legislators.

Note:  Always SEARCH before creating a new committee in Personify.  Use term begin/end dates to track the involvement of a committee member.

            If no committee was found, click the Create New Committee button.

  1. From the Create a New Committee window, update the Committee Class to be Legislative Group.
  2. Update the Address Type to be Blank.
  3. Update the Committee Name

  1. Click Save & Close at the bottom of the window.

Adding a Member to a Political Committee

  1. From the Committee Members tab of Committee Central, click the Add New Member button.  The Customer Chooser window will appear.  Search for a constituent.

  1. Update the Committee Member Details information.
    1. Begin Date:  This is the date the politician first took office.
    2. Position:  Update the position to be Member
    3. End Date:  Update the end date should the individual’s term end.
    4. Participation Status:  Update the participation status to be Active
    5. Voting Status:  Update the voting status to be Non-Voting Member.

  1. Update additional details in the Committee Member Details section.
    1. Political Party:  Choose a political party from the drop down menu.
    2. Congressional District:  Enter the congressional district the individual is representing.

  1. Click Save at the bottom of the window.
