Updating constituent records in Personify is an essential task that all users, both AOA staff and affiliate staff, perform daily. Maintaining up-to-date and accurate contact information is imperative to both membership recruitment and retention. Data accuracy and quality ensure that the AOA and our affiliates can successfully engage with members, provide them with necessary services, and provide quality data reports on the profession’s status for legislative and policy issues.
Data updates are received in various forms and from multiple channels. The AOA obtains updated contact information in the following ways:
- when a doctor (or their staff) directly reaches out to an affiliate or AOA via phone, email, or other communication methods
- returned postal communication for a “bad address” or mail forwarding and digital communications through email marketing and newsletters
- updated license data from state boards of optometry
- MyAOA profile updates directly from MyAOA
